MarkWe have a quick chat with Central Coast-based AFRM adviser/director Mark.

How long have you worked at AFRM?

Since early 2004.

What is the most rewarding part of being an adviser?

Being part of paying claims for our clients.

Has recent industry debate and change impacted the way you work?

Yes. We are continually improving how we give advice to our clients, how we can be more efficient, how we act in their best interest.

What would you say to a young family who doesn’t have any insurance?

It's vital! Protect your family! It doesn’t cost much to do, and you can often pay for most of it from super.

What do you believe is your main area of expertise within risk advice?

Working with clients, helping them to make good decisions to protect their families.

And, to something more light-hearted:

How do you like to spend your weekends?

Spending time with my family, especially my four grandchildren, and riding my pushbike.

Where is your favourite place to travel to and why?

I went on a safari to East Africa in 2010. To stay in tents, and see thousands of wildebeest and zebra, elephants and giraffes, prides of lions, cheetahs & leopards was simply amazing.

If you weren’t a risk adviser, what would you most like to be?

A Game Ranger in the Serengeti.
