SetWidth120 dave portraitWe have a quick chat with Sydney-based AFRM adviser Dave.

How long have you worked at AFRM?

7 years now

What is the most rewarding part of being an adviser?

Building relationships with my clients and claims management.

Has recent industry debate and change impacted the way you work?

No, this does not have any impact on what I do day to day and I have had no negative feedback from clients just questions from referrers.

What would you say to a young family who doesn’t have any insurance?

I would question the impact or loss to the family if one or both were to not have their income. I would ask them "How would this effect your lifestyle/budgets mortgage payments?"

What do you believe is your main area of expertise within risk advice?

Now after three years of advising it would be claims management, as well as underwriting pre-assessments with insurers after spending years working for insurers and alongside claims assessors.

And, to something more light-hearted:

What is your favourite city and why?

South Perth, great people, slower pace and amazing things to see!

How do you like to relax?

Around friends on a Sunday afternoon with a beer or two.

If you weren’t a risk adviser, would you most like to be?

I would be a billionaire, not sure how though!
