Professional Year
At AFRM we have a long history of developing staff in-house so they progress to become the next generation of Risk Specialist Financial Advisers. We have facilitated this by way of the Advice Associate (AA) role. This role allows the AA to gain experience by shadowing an Adviser in client meetings, preparing advice documentation and strategies to be presented by the Adviser, and will generally assist the Adviser in all facets of delivering Advice and services to clients under their direct supervision.
Since 2019, it was legislated that any new entrant who wishes to qualify to become registered as a Financial Adviser, must complete a Professional Year (PY). The PY requires an aspiring Adviser to:
-
undertake 1,500 hours of supervised work and 100 hours of documented training.
-
complete a degree equivalent of AFQ8 or approved bachelor’s degree; and
complete an industry exam.
At AFRM, the following are currently undertaking the Professional Year. Following the link provides details about the AA, and their supervisor.
